Unique Living Statue Reflects Smiles at Peakfest in Apex, NC

On May 5th, 2018, the Imagine Circus Mirror Man took up shop in downtown Apex, NC baffling Peakfest attendees and posing for festival photos. Mesmerized by his elaborate costume, patrons pulled out their phones to captured these exciting moments. Shining in the sun’s rays, reflecting wide smiles, the Mirror Man passed out high fives to children and adults alike.

Wearing a suit that resembles a giant disco ball, our Mirror Man baffled Apex Festival-goers as he transformed from a still statue to an interactive art piece. Posing for hundreds of selfies, the mirror he finally got a chance to rove throughout the festival showing off some of his hypnotizing dance moves. This fantastic costume truly transforms any event into a memorable experience.

On Friday, April 13th, Imagine Circus traveled to the Classy Art showroom in High Point, NC for a wonderfully imaginative mirror themed party. Providing entertainment for the official Furniture Market after-party, our performers roved through the event, interacting with guests and posing for photos.

“Seductive Reflections” Mirror Themed Party

These year’s party theme was “Seductive Reflections!” Imagine Circus debuted several new costumes, including a silver Strolling Table girl and a custom-made Mirror Man suit. We enjoyed creating these unique mirror-themed costumes, bringing our client’s vision to life!

Mirror Man Impresses Party Goers

Adorned in mirrors and wearing the buffet table as a cocktail dress, our gorgeous Strolling Table girl served delectable treats to hungry party goers. Guests were surprised and satiated by this unique display, posing for photos while enjoying a snack.

On February 10th, 2018 Imagine Circus collaborated with the Visual Art Exchange (VAE) for their yearly fundraiser, “For the Love of Art” Gala. Taking cirque entertainment to the next level, Imagine Circus filled the downtown Raleigh Marriott with unique performers around each corner.

Unique Entertainment for Gala & Upscale Events

At this ticketed event, our living statue performer poured champagne for guests upon arrival. Our aerial hoop was showcased near the check-in table, as aerialists entertained guests while they waited in line. Our stilt walkers roved the event in eye catching pink showgirl outfits with matching silver wings, flashing the hot pink VAE logo. Our live body painter and model added live art flair to an already art-centric event. With a pink theme, our costume designers made sure to accentuated this detail– from pink eyelashes to sparkling pink dresses, to adorning each cap with pink feathers.

Imagine Circus performers with circusSPARK at SPARKcon 2017

SPARKcon, an annual street festival in downtown Raleigh provides a venue to showcase the creativity of the Triangle, featuring local talent and uniting multi-medium artists for one weekend of collaboration and expression. Katie and Kaci from Imagine Circus co-founded the sub-spark circusSPARK over eight years ago and it has grown ever since as a space for circus enthusiasts— amateurs and professionals— to perform together and share their art form with the larger community. A 100% grassroots, open source festival, all performances are donated and shared out of the desire to create art and inspire others.

This year, Imagine Circus performed in City Plaza alongside the larger circus community of individual performers, movement studios and production companies. Imagine Circus performers participated in the Friday night Fashion Show, the MainStage Showcase, and the Fire Conclave, the Saturday “Elemental Circus” debut and Justin VS Brittany Fire Show, as well as the Sunday Stilt Parade and banana dance! Acrobats & Living Statue at Art Museum | Raleigh, NC

In collaboration with the North Carolina Museum of Art, Imagine Circus performed at the opening celebration of the “Glory of Venice,” an exhibition spotlighting the Venetian Renaissance style of painting from the 1470s to the 1520s. At this elegant masquerade, our performers embraced the theme, making the experience come to life. Our Venetian court jesters performed partner acrobatics, as well as roving on stilt walking and mingled with guests. Our Renaissance “living statue” musician serenaded art lovers and offered roses to those that dropped coins in his Venetian vessel. This sold-out event infused modern day class into the old-fashioned spirit of the Renaissance. We look forward to collaborating with the NCMA in the future!
