Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) Parade & Performances

Sharing smiles and cheer, Imagine Circus performers gallivanted around the festival grounds at Spring LEAF 2017! Katie and Kaci taught aerial demos in the Family Adventure Village on the aerial platform rig (built by Circus Gear), featuring four aerial hammocks low to the ground for children to learn basic poses and inversions. Following the interactive demos, Katie and Kaci performed partner acrobatics, captivating the attention of children and adults alike. Ben roved the grounds, performing a live and improv hoop act involving a progression from single to double and triple techniques, ranging from classic circus to contemporary hoop dance. Mindy performed spinning skirt, an ethereal and elegant, meditative spinning inspired by Sufi Dervishes. The entire crew came together to lead the LEAF Parade, accompanied by the rhythmic offerings of the Zabumba drummers. LEAF is an amazing festival, perfect for families, music lovers, and creativity advocates. Mark your calendar for Fall LEAF 2017— October 19-22, 2017.

Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival in Pittsboro, NC

In the lush surroundings of beautiful Chatham County, Imagine Circus offered aerial performances, an evening Fire Show, and roving stilt walking at Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival in Pittsboro, NC. In addition to performances, Imagine Circus taught circus workshops and co-hosted an interactive flow space with the Flowjo, encouraging festival goers to hula hoop, juggle, dance, and move! The Shakori Hills Festival is part of the GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance, a “mission-based (501-c3) organization that hosts four music/dance festivals a year in three different states across the east coast. GrassRoots brings multi-cultural communities together through the magic of music, art, dance, education, wellness and sustainability.” Mark your calendar for the Fall event, October 5-8, 2017.

Stilt Walkers & Fire Dancers at Raleigh Midtown Music Fest

Amidst a crowd of playful children, happy dogs, and spirited adults, Imagine Circus performers brought the “Big Top” feel to Midtown Music Fest, the third annual celebration of spring at North Hills in Raleigh, NC! This free and open to the public fest showcased a variety of musical genres at alternating stages, along with tasty food trucks, craft beer and cocktails, and a vendor village. Petals on the Go offered hands-on flower crown making, Chirba Chirba dished out delicious dumplings, and Big Boss poured copious amounts of local beer. Imagine Circus stilt walkers towered over the crowd– giving high fives, posing for photos, and spreading circus cheer! Capping off a perfect spring day, Imagine Circus heated things up with a captivating Fire Show featuring fire mask, fans, hoops, poi, staff, and acrobatics.

“Fire to Inspire” at High Point Furniture Market

Home to the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, High Point Furniture Market hosted the Market kick off party, “Fire to Inspire,” a sexy cocktail party featuring creative libations, live music and erotic fire performances. On April 20, 2017 in High Point, NC, Imagine Circus performers presented sultry grinder acts, enticing fire dancing, and alluring fire eating. Attended by buyers, reps, and exhibitors, this party mixed the sexy side of furniture with top shelf entertainment.

Durham Mardi Gras Parade 2017

We had a blast on Fat Tuesday at the Durham Mardi Gras Parade! The Imagine Circus krewe came out in full force with a gaggle of colorful stilt walkers. Our fearless stilting leader, Adam danced his way down the parade route, making way for the rest of our stilters Azul, Robin, Irene, Kaci, and Katie. Our glowing presence brought cheer to parade attendees and we loved being part of the Bull City celebration!
